Husum & Houses

A very traditional reed roofed house in Tating.		This is the church in the town of Tonning
The ceiling of the Tonning church, showing a Hebrew words which is the name of God.		This interesting tray of stones with names on them was also in the Tonning church. You are invited to move a stone you like and I chose ‘tag’ as I knew what it meant.
A rather ancient bus outside the reed roofed Roter Hauburg,		A full view of the Roter Hauburg. Like with the Robert Burns house, all the creatures of the farm shared the house with the people.
Here, inside Roter Hauburg you can see on the wall some of the tools used for making the reed roof.		Although the house is quite tall, there is only one floor and this is a view looking up at the rafters.
