This is the flag of Nordfreisland as Dagebull does not have its own flag

Kite flying is rather a tradition here.

Here is a picture of the buterfly kite. It would not fly at first as it kept going down to one side. I tied a small bit of wood to one of the tails and then it worked just fine.

Here is ‘Klaar Kimming’, where we stayed in Dagebull. They had a rule of ‘Strictly no cooking of fish in the room’. I had not thought about cooking fish in the room, but somehow the sign made me want to cook some.

Here is the boat that took us to the island of Hooge. This ‘Seeadler’ is not to be confused with a ship of the same name used by Graf von Luckner to great effect in World War I.

They caught these fish while we were crossing to the island and we were given a talk about them. I could understand some of it. I know that there were some small flounders and that the star fish as an eye on the end of each star point.

Two seals, the first two confirmed sighting of seals.

A horse bus on Hallig Hooge. Until a great flood in the 17th century this was just another hill, but afterwards it was an island.

A close view of Birgit with the horses.

Here is the garden of an old house.

Another old house with hydrangeas.

An interesting sign over a building.

You may notice that the nearest sheep is artificial.
