The home of significant artist Emile Nolde seen from his garden.

A significant cake.

The famous Seewart Hotel where we stayed in Flensburg

The rooms in the hotel are themed after decades of the 20th century. I think we had the 1930's or 40's room with pictures of Marlene Dietrich and Zarah Leander. It was just great!

This is the beer of Flensburg. It is famouse for having an old style top which make the noise ‘plop’ when you open it, hense the advertising slogan.

The Lion of Flensburg. He has been on his travels, moved to Berlin, then back to Flensburg and then the Danes took him to Copenhagen, but now the lion is back home again.

These are graves from the war against Denmark all around this tree

An old sailing ship.

An old steam ship in Flensburg port. You will note that it is advertising the beer.

Two old boats in the port.

A rather odd looking Flensburg house

If you are a sick rat, this is the place to go.

On the coast by the Holnis cliffs we saw this frog.

And this toad. Oh, frogs have moist skin and toads have dry skin.

Wild roses along the Holnis Cliffs

Glucksburg castle. Both the frog and toad have been her many times, but still are waiting for a princess to kiss them.
