Welcome to Stonehenge This is a reconstruction of a villiage from the time when Stonehenge was built.
The sign next to this stone says ‘Could you move this stone?’ Well the answer is ‘Yes’, because it is made out of plastic!

This is called ‘The Heal Stone and it is over this that the Sun used to rise at Midsummer Day. Because the Earth wobbles around a bit the Sun rises slightly to the side now. Some folks worked out that the Sun would rise exactly over this stone in 3,500 B.C. and that is how it was dated.

The classic Stonehenge view. It really is not as big as you thing it is from pictures you might see.

Birgit with the stones.

Here is a closer view of the stone circle. The inner circle of standing stones all used to have other stones laying across their tops.

Two stones with one still laying across them.
