On the Boeing 767, on time and ready to leave a raining Heathrow Airport

First view of Nova Scotia trees

We arrive at Stanfield International Airport, Halifax

On our first day we went on a very early trip to a foggy Peggy’s Cove. Here is the famous lighthouse.

Peggy’s Cove in the fog.  I am sure there were ghosts of fishermen wandering about there.

This is a carving showing ‘Peggy“and some fishermen. Peggy was the name of somebody who was washed up on the shore nearby and the town took it’s name from her.

The museum in Lunenburg. We are being told all about lobsters and I think one day this lobster will be headed for the pot.

This is ‘The Fisherman's Trophy’ together with a sort of wool picture of ‘Bluenose’, the Canadian ship that won it.

An interesting ship model that was made by a prisoner.  When he was released he did nto want to go as he had not finished the model and asked if he could stay in the prison and finish it. He was told to get out, so he went down the street, smashed a window and ended up in prison to finish the model.

Here is a section of the museum showing all the sewing equipement used to repair and make sails and flags.

‘Bluenose II’

Here I am with Bluenose II, a ship which was named after a potato.

The Citidel is tradditionally guarded by Scots.

One of the cannons is fired as a demonstration.
