A model of a sailing ship, this time of vessel with two masts is known as a ‘ketch’.

In the Alexander Bell Museum. He did other things apart from the telephone and this is his hydrofoil. It was very fast but very noisy, however Mrs. Bell had no problem piloting it as she was deaf.

This is a replica of the first aircraft flowin in Canada, another amazing Bell design. I never knew he did all this other stuff and I could have spent a lot longer in the musuem, but of course we were on a tour and I had to move on.

This is a view of our hotel at Baddock

A river near a place where we stopped for food. There was a warning notice that a bear has been seen but I did not see it.

Birgit with some boats as we move to Cape Breton Island

The first sandy beach I have seen in Nova Scotia.

A view of the Cape Breton Island coast.

An old Scotsman gave away his land so it could become a part, but only as long as this old Scottish style croft cottage was built there.

I am in the sea at Black Rock Beach

A view along the beach.

The ferry port Pictou, from where we travel to Prince Edward Island.

The ‘Hector’, a ship which brought Scottish people to settle in the area.
