Glamis to Glasgow Part One

We drank half a bottle of whiskey at our hotel in Blairgowrie. It was very strong!

Glamis Castle, made famous by the William Shakespeare as the home of Macbeth. Well, according to our guide it was not the home of Macbeth. From the paintings I could see that it was the home to a duke with a taste for rather bizarre flesh coloured armour.

Here I am by the door. Glamis is supposed to be the most haunted castle in Scotland. A ghost of a lady in the chapel and also some card players walled up in one of the rooms for playing cards with the Devil.

As Macbeth never lived here, can we be sure that these are just woods and not Macduff's army approaching the castle?

The well known 'Unicorn Hunt' tapistries in Stirling Castle.

The famous 'Captive Unicorn' tapistry.

In the distance you can see the 'Wallace Monument'. Sir William Wallace beat the English at Stirling in 1297.

Me by the War Memorial in George Square Glasgow.

Glasgow City Hall, with a monument to Sir Walter Scott in the foreground.

Queen Victoria, with seagull in George Square.

Glasgow Infirmary, an interesting looking building.

Saint Mungo's Cathedral.

A view inside the cathedral showing the three levels of aches.

Unusual roof bosses in a cathedral chapel.
